Cairo – Mubasher: The total value of taxes, customs duties, and other charges collected at Dekheila and Damietta ports reached EGP 2.71 billion during March.

The two ports collected EGP 451.94 million in taxes and customs duties for imported goods last month, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Wednesday.

In addition, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the two ports amounted to EGP 2.5 billion.

The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, maize, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, wood, yarn, and motorcycle and car spare parts.

Moreover, the two ports exported goods that include aluminium, food products, stainless steel, and marble at a total value of EGP 6.2 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 7 million.
