Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan grew to $616.3 million in 2020, compared to $567.5 million in 2019, the Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Office in Amman, Mona Abboud, was cited as saying by the Middle East News Agency (MENA).

Egypt’s exports to Jordan increased by 12.2% year-on-year (YoY) to $495.4 million last year from $441.5 million, Abboud added in a seminar organised by the Furniture Export Council in collaboration with the Egyptian Commercial Service.

On the other hand, Jordan’s exports to Egypt fell by 4.5% YoY to $120.9 million from $126 million in 2019.

Abboud noted that the furniture sector is one of the major industries in Jordan, noting the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) reached $43.7 billion or $4,055 per capita.
