Suez Customs collects EGP 3bn customs, taxes in April

Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Customs collected EGP 3.09 billion in customs duties, taxes, and other charges during April.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Suez Port amounted to EGP 790.295 million during the fourth month of 2021, according to a report released by the Egyptian Customs Authority on Sunday.

In addition, the value-added tax (VAT) recorded EGP 2.029 billion, while other charges imposed on these goods registered EGP 255.978 million during the month. 

The imported good included strategic commodities, production inputs, and general cargo, such as yarn, textiles, electric appliances, cars and spare parts, vegetable oils, plastics, wheat, and petroleum products.

The port exported goods at a total value of EGP 3.449 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 4.512 million.
