Saudi Arabia’s Al Sadhan signs agreement with CHEP

Saudi Arabia’s Al Sadhan signs agreement with CHEP
Al Sadhan is expected to reduce its CO2 emissions upon this deal

Riyadh – Mubasher: Al Sadhan Group, operator of SPAR Saudi Arabia and Al Sadhan Trading, has penned a two-year participating agreement with CHEP Middle East and North Africa to extend the use of pallet pooling services, according to a press release on Monday.

The agreement aims to enhance the advantages over single-use pallets of non-standard sizes and quality being received from Al Sadhan’s suppliers, Al Sadhan Group Procurement and Contracts Manager, Rakan Almarshad, commented.

SPAR, a partner of the private family-owned retailer Al Sadhan, will benefit from receiving products on CHEP pallets. Both SPAR and Al Sadhan will receive CHEP pallets to their distribution centres and stores for easier handling and reduced risks that are inherent when using “inferior-quality pallets”.

Al Sadhan is expected to reduce its CO2 emissions, and therefore the environmental impact, across its supply chain after switching to CHEP, due to the sustainability advantages of using reusable wooden CHEP pallets.

The CHEP pallet life cycle is designated to reduce both waste wood and the amount of wood used in pallet manufacture.
