UAE - Mubasher: Japan's SoftBank Group Corp is holding discussions to invest in the latest funding round of Kitopi, a Dubai-headquartered cloud kitchen platform, through its second technology fund, sources told Reuters.

The company's Vision Fund 2 has submitted a proposal to lead an around $400 million investment in Kitopi, the sources added.

Founded in January 2018, Kitopi partners with more than 200 brands across five countries to operate more than 60 kitchens. 

It is noteworthy to mention that in November 2020, Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Investment Company has led a $700 million funding round for Reef Technology, a US-based technology startup transforming underutilised urban spaces into neighborhood hubs to connect people to local goods and services.

The funding round was joined by SoftBank Vision Fund, Oaktree, UBS Asset Management, and Target Global.
