Port Said collects EGP 3.2bn customs, taxes in May

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected EGP 3.253 billion in customs duties, taxes, and charges at Port Said Customs during May.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Port Said amounted to EGP 499.753 million during May, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.

In addition, the value-added taxes (VAT) and other charges imposed on these goods recorded EGP 2.753 billion during the month.

The imported goods included wheat, legumes, maize, production inputs, cars, and spare parts.

Moreover, the port exported goods that included food, fruits, juices, and raw materials at a total value of EGP 1.071 billion. The authority collected export fees for some exports amounting to about EGP 13,000.
