Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is offering on Monday additional treasury bonds (T-bonds) worth EGP 16.5 billion in total over three tranches, according to official data.
The first set of notes amounts to EGP 5 billion and holds a two-year tenor until 20 April 2023.
The second issue stands at EGP 6 billion, carrying a five-year maturity period until 6 April 2026.
The third offering of T-bonds totals EGP 5.5 billion, with a 10-year tenor until 6 April 2031.
A day earlier, Egypt auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) worth a total of EGP 18.5 billion.
The country, through the Ministry of Finance, aims to finance its budget deficit by offering debt instruments.
