UAE's holdings of US Treasury bonds hit $43.7bn in April
The UAE has maintained its 28th position globally among the holders of the US debt instruments

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE has increased its holdings of the US Treasury bonds by 66.16% year-on-year (YoY) to $43.7 billion in April 2021, compared to about $26.3 billion in the same month of 2020.

On a monthly basis, the UAE's holdings of the US Treasury bonds declined in April, compared to $45.6 billion in March 2021, according to the latest data of the US Department of the Treasury.

Globally, the UAE has maintained its 28th position among the holders of the US debt instruments in April, which were topped by Japan with $1.276 trillion.

China occupied the second position among the holders of the US Treasury bonds with $1.096 trillion in April.

At the Arab level, the UAE ranked third among the holders of the US debt instruments, while Saudi Arabia was placed in the first position with about $130.3 billion investments, followed by Kuwait with $45.8 billion.
