Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt has so far produced 300,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine against coronavirus (COVID-19), Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed was cited on Wednesday by the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
Starting from August, the country is expected to manufacture 10 million doses of the vaccine each month, Zayed added.
China’s Sinovac Life Sciences Company gave the green light to Egypt to produce 80 million doses of the vaccine in the coming six months, she noted, adding that the plant of the Egyptian Holding Company for Biopharmaceuticals and Vaccines (Vacsera) in Agouza has the capacity to produce 300,000 doses in one shift.
The country aims to vaccinate 40 million citizens against COVD-19 by the end of 2021.
