UAE - Mubasher: Dubai-based Jebel Ali Port, one of the world's largest ports, is operating normally following a fire caused by an explosion within a container on board a ship at the facility around midnight on Wednesday, 7 July, a source told Bloomberg.

The explosion happened on a container ship at Terminal 1 at Jebel Ali Port, and there were no signs of sabotage, the source said.

The fire has been brought under control, and no casualties were reported, the authorities in Dubai announced following the incident.

The fire in Jebel Ali Port broke out on a small container ship with a capacity of 130 containers, Dubai Police announced.
