Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday's trading session on a positive note on the back of local purchases ahead of the Eid El-Adha holiday which will extend from Monday to Thursday.
The main EGX30 index advanced by 0.81% to 10,646.85 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI went up by 1.4% to 2,509.45 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX100 EWI rose by 1.18% to 3,469.37 points and the EGX50 EWI increased by 0.67% to 2,229.86 points.
The market cap value grew by EGP 5.73 billion to EGP 685.38 billion on Sunday, compared to EGP 679.65 billion.
The market's turnover stood at EGP 1.48 billion after 380.3 million shares were exchanged through around 49,400 transactions.
Local investors were net buyers with EGP 27.7 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 11.6 million and EGP 16.1 million, respectively.
