Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi General Directorate of Passports has automatically extended the validity of residence permits and visas for expatriates outside the Kingdom until 31 August 2021, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

In line with the directives made by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the free-of-charge extension also applies for the visit, exit, and re-entry visas for all expatriates who are struck abroad in countries with which flights have been suspended due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Issued by the Saudi Minister of Finance, this decision is part of the government's efforts to tackle the COVID-19 repercussions and falls within precautionary and preventive measures to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.

The extension will be carried out electronically without the need to visit the departments of passports.
