UAE - Mubasher: The UAE government has granted doctors and their families the 10-year residency golden visa to recognise their efforts and scientific competencies, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

This move is in line with the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to enable those with scientific competencies and distinguished expertise to apply for the golden visa.

In November, the Cabinet chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid approved major procedural changes for residents to obtain the golden visa and the inclusion of new categories eligible for the visa, including all doctorate degree holders, doctors, engineers, outstanding students with a GPA of 3.8.

Granting doctors the golden visa aims to attract the top talents in the medical field, offer opportunities for medical staff to work and reside in the UAE, and promote the national healthcare sector.

All doctors licensed by the UAE health regulatory bodies will be able to apply for the golden visa between July 2021 to September 2022, and the concerned government departments will review the applications to issue the golden visa for the qualified.
