Cairo – Mubasher: Lafarge Egypt announced the Programme Employment of Young Women in cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) through the Applied Gender Diversity Management (GDM).
The programme offers a two-week summer internship for eight female school students to promote diversity in the cement industry, which is heavily male-dominated.
This initiative comes in line with a commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Egypt Vision 2030, the company said in a press release on Monday.
“We are helping these young females to make an informed decision regarding their field of study and professional future. The interns will get a hands-on experience in the human resources, communications, marketing, information technology (IT), and business development departments on a rotational basis,” said Noha Bakr, Country Communications and Corporate Affairs Director at Lafarge Egypt.
