Cairo – Mubasher: Banque du Caire reported standalone net profits at EGP 1.8 billion in the first half (H1) of 2021, up by 7% year-on-year (YoY) from EGP 1.7 billion. 

The bank's net interest income exceeded EGP 5 billion in the six-month period ended 30 June, compared to EGP 4.9 billion in the year-ago period, according to a statement on Monday.

Moreover, the net income from fees and commissions grew by 18% to EGP 886 million in H1-21 from EGP 754 million in H1-20, leading to a 4% growth in operating revenues which reached EGP 6.1 billion, compared to EGP 5.9 billion. 

The financial indicators showed that the capital adequacy rate reached 15.48%, the return on average assets amounted to 1.7%, and the return on average equity stood at 21% at the end of June. 

The customer and bank loans portfolio rose by EGP 7 billion to EGP 100 billion, while the corporate and bank credit portfolio increased to EGP 48.8 billion.
