Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected EGP 3.424 billion in taxes, customs duties, and other charges at Ain Sokhna port during August. 

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Ain Sokhna port amounted to EGP 872.813 million last month, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Sunday. 

In addition, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the port stood at EGP 2.551 billion. 

The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, maize, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, wood, yarn, mobile phone accessories, toys, and car spare parts.

Moreover, the port exported goods that include aluminium, zinc, marble, textiles, sand, phosphate, textiles, fibreglass, and food products at a total value of EGP 1.505 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 4.515 million.
