UAE records 62% hotel occupancy rate in H1-21
The UAE's hotels recorded a 70% increase in the number of local guests

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE's tourism sector has witnessed a 62% hotel occupancy rate during the first half (H1) of 2021, topping ten other global tourism destinations.

Hotel and tourism establishments in the UAE have attracted around 8.3 million visitors during the first six months of 2021, up 15% year-on-year (YoY), according to a recent press release.

Hence, the revenues of these establishments have grown by 31% to AED 11.3 million in H1-21 when compared to a year-ago period.

The UAE's hotels recorded a 70% increase in the number of local guests in H1-21, with domestic tourism representing 30% of the total guests. 

The Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs, and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, said that the tourism sector's performance is driven by the efficiency of national campaigns, the development of the UAE’s tourism market, and the diversity of its products.
