UAE's non-oil foreign trade hits AED 900bn in H1-21
The UAE's non-oil foreign trade included AED 170 billion non-oil exports

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE's non-oil foreign trade jumped by 27% year-on-year (YoY) to around AED 900 billion in the first half (H1) of 2021, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

This performance also reflects a 6% growth in the country’s non-oil foreign trade compared to the pre-pandemic level in 2019, as shown by cited preliminary data released by the Ministry of Economy.

The UAE's non-oil foreign trade included AED 170 billion non-oil exports in H1-21, up 44% from the year-ago period and 41% from the same period in 2019.

The non-oil exports have contributed to 19% of the country’s non-oil foreign trade in H1-21.

Meanwhile, the country recorded AED 238 billion re-exports in the first six months of 2021, 22% higher than the same period of 2020, while the value of imports rose by 24% to AED 482 billion in H1-21.

The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, said: "These efforts consolidate the UAE’s position as a leading and competitive trade hub connecting the East and West and a major player in ensuring the continuity and growth of global supply chains."

Meanwhile, Al Zeyoudi added: "In light of these integrated and pioneering efforts, we expect the country's non-oil foreign trade to continue its positive performance during the remaining months of the year."
