ADNOC to host ADIPEC to focus on hydrogen importance in diversified energy sector
ADIPEC will comprise seven hydrogen sessions

UAE - Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) will host ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi on 15-18 November 2021 to highlight the importance of hydrogen in a diversified energy sector.

To be held in-person, ADIPEC is supported by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry, the Abu Dhabi Chamber, and the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority to gather hundreds of ministers, policymakers, and business leaders across the world, according to a press release on Monday.

To be convened after the UN climate meeting COP 26, the event will also tackle the challenges and opportunities of producing green and blue hydrogen.

ADIPEC comprises seven hydrogen sessions to focus on several topics, including building a sustainable hydrogen economy, establishing a policy framework to promote hydrogen deployment, and managing supply and demand.

The UAE has pledged to spend $160 billion to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Green hydrogen could contribute to up to 25% of the world’s energy requirements in less than 30 years, with a market value in excess of $10 trillion, as shown by a recent Goldman Sachs report.

The Global Energy President, dmg events, Christopher Hudson, said: "ADIPEC 2021 will enable the global energy industry to gain key insights from, and share knowledge with the policymakers, technologists, scientists, and companies at the forefront of the hydrogen industry."

Hudson remarked: "Besides major investment, some of the key issues to be discussed at ADIPEC is the price of producing green hydrogen from renewable energy as well as how quickly new technology can be developed."
