Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has reduced its holdings of US treasury bonds by 4.5% or $5.9 billion to $124.1 billion in August this year compared to the same month in 2020, down to the lowest level in 15 months, according to official data.
The Kingdom is currently in the 17th place of top holders of US treasuries.
On a monthly basis, the Saudi holdings of US securities declined by 3.1% or $4 billion in August compared to $128.1 billion in July.
Japan has been the top holder of US treasuries across the world with a value of $1.31 trillion, followed by China with $1.04 trillion.
Regionally, Saudi Arabia advanced the Arab countries, followed by the UAE with $58.7 billion.
