Dubai – Mubasher: Ericsson has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) and Pure Harvest Smart Farms to offer agricultural sites in the UAE's Al Ain innovative 5G smart farming solutions.

The 5G solutions will raise the efficiency of existing devices used in Pure Harvest farms, such as sensors, drones, and robotics, according to a press release on Sunday.

The MoU, which was signed during the 41st edition of GITEX Technology Week in Dubai, is in line with the UAE Sustainability Agenda aiming to provide adequate and affordable food, achieve sustainable economic growth, and increase resource efficiency.

The CEO and Co-Founder of Pure Harvest Smart Farms, Sky Kurtz, said: "As a company focused on world-leading controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) technologies, our aim is to embrace innovation to tackle global and regional challenges such as food security, water conservation, economic diversification, and can contribute to a more sustainable future."
