RAK Airport appoints new CEO
RAK Airport will benefit from Titonis' experience across aviation sectors

UAE - Mubasher: Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (RAK Airport) has appointed Atanasios Titonis as its new CEO, effective 5 September.

RAK Airport will benefit from Titonis' long experience across several aviation sectors, including airlines, tour operators, ground handlers, and airports in Europe and the Middle East, to develop its businesses, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Previously, Titonis occupied positions in several other senior executive roles, including the Chief Operating Officer with Saudi Arabia's Dammam Airports Company.

Before working with Dammam Airports, the new CEO has served in a dual role as the Chief Operating Office/Accountable Manager and at one point as Acting Chief Executive Officer at Germany’s Cologne Bonn Airport for 12 years.

The Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, board member of General Civil Aviation Authority and RAK Executive Council, Salem Sultan Al-Qasimi, said: "With in-depth knowledge and expertise working across multiple facets of the aviation industry, Atanasios will play a vital role in navigating this crucial phase and driving the airport’s continued development."

Meanwhile, Al-Qasimi added: "He will also be pivotal in building further strategic partnerships to open up the Emirate to key markets and drive its growth as one of the most dynamic tourist destinations."
