Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's Suez Canal amounted to $5.1 billion from 1 January to 25 October, up by 12.6% from $4.53 billion in the same period a year earlier, the Suez Canal Authority's (SCA) Chairman, Osama Rabie, said. 

During the 10-month period, a total of 16,661 vessels passed through the waterway with a net tonnage of 1.029 billion tonnes, compared to 15,310 vessels carrying 948.4 million tonnes in the year-ago period, Rabia added in a statement on Wednesday. 

Rabie has received a high-level delegation of ambassadors from several country members of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
