DHL launches mobile innovation centre in Dubai as part of MEA journey
The facility is forecast to stay in Dubai until 2022

UAE - Mubasher: DHL, an international logistics service provider, has inaugurated its Mobile Middle East and Africa (MEA) Innovation Centre in the Logistics District in Dubai South.

The 450-square metre facility, which is easily assembled and disassembled, will offer a platform for customers and partners to solve complex logistics challenges and know the latest trends in logistics, according to a press release on Wednesday.

The Mobile MEA Innovation Centre will host a number of exhibits aiming to focus on the topics that will shape the future of the logistics industry, including of Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, robotics, bionic enhancement, and data analytics.

The Mobile MEA Innovation Centre is DHL's fourth innovation centre globally after Chicago in the US, Cologne in Germany, and Singapore and the first completely mobile one.

The facility is forecast to stay in Dubai until 2022, then move to Qatar as part of its journey across the MEA region, which is expected to continue through 2027.

The Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Customer Solutions and Innovation at DHL, Katja Busch, said: "Middle East and Africa is one of our most vibrant regions. We are proud to bring the DHL Innovation approach into Dubai South, which is an ideal first stop in the region."

Meanwhile, the CEO of Logistics District at Dubai South, Mohsen Ahmad Alawadhi, commented: "The Center's conception and innovative execution are aligned with Dubai South's ambition to be a next-generation, innovation-led logistics hub for the region."
