Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s unemployment rate went up 0.2% to 7.5% in the third quarter (Q3) of 2021, compared to 7.3% in the previous quarter of 2021, as shown by the data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The total number of employees increased by 0.9% to 29.380 million in the July-September period, compared to 29.115 million in Q2-21.

The urban labour force recorded 13.187 million individuals, while the rural labour force stood at 16.193 million.

The number of male employees registered 24.277 million, whereas female employees reached  5.103 million.

The number of unemployed people recorded 2.211 million in Q3-21, representing 7.5% of the labour force, up from 2.155 million in Q2-21.
