Egypt’s exports increase 40% in 9M

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has exported goods worth a total of $29.7 billion during the first nine months of 2021.

This marked an annual surge of 40% from $21.2 billion in the corresponding period a year ago, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Fuel and mineral oils topped the list of Egyptian exports in January-September 2021 with $8.3 billion compared to $4.2 billion in the same nine months in 2020.

G20 members topped the countries importing from Egypt in the nine-month period this year with $14.1 billion, compared with $9.8 billion in January-September 2020.

The European Union (EU) countries followed with exports worth $9.6 billion this year from $5.8 billion in January-September 2020.

The Arab states have exported Egyptian goods and products worth $7.8 billion during the nine-month period this year from $7.3 billion a year ago.

It is worth noting that Egypt’s balance of trade deficit shrank by 17.7% to $2.91 billion in August 2021 from $3.53 billion in the same month a year earlier.
