EGX’s main index continues to fall on Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The main index (EGX30) of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday down by 0.58% at 11,212.3 points, after falling to 11,277.83 points on Sunday.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI meanwhile went up 2.09% to 2,101.18 points, after dropping 1.17% to 2,058.26 points a day earlier.

The EGX100 EWI also gained 1.41% to 3,062.73 points. Similarly, the EGX50 EWI added 1.41% to close at 1,947.96 points.

The EGX’s turnover totalled EGP 954.68 million through the exchange of 408.03 million shares, compared to EGP 774.84 million and 365.76 million shares last session.

The market cap value rose to EGP 715.16 billion, compared to EGP 714.27 billion on Sunday.

As for trading on securities, Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 85.05 million, while Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 17.3 million and EGP 67.74 million, respectively.
