Riyadh – Mubasher: Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Company has partnered with the US fast food brand Subway to nearly double the number of Subway’s restaurants in Saudi Arabia over the coming six years.

The new agreement is expected to add a minimum of 145 new locations to Subway’s current footprint of 210 restaurants in the Kingdom, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The collaboration will also speed up the integration of Subway’s Fresh Forward restaurant design, which is backed by a digital-first strategy providing guests with order-ahead options.

CEO of Subway, John Chidsey, said: “Through partnering with companies that have deep regional knowledge and proven success in the industry, such as Alhokair, we are strategically expanding and strengthening our global footprint around the world.”

Marwan Moukarzel, CEO of Alhokair, meanwhile commented: “The master franchise agreement with Subway will enhance and diversify our evolving food and beverage brand portfolio in the Kingdom.”

During the year 2021, Subway signed master franchise agreements in India, which is considered the brand’s largest agreement to date, and the UAE, aiming to double the number of restaurants across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in the coming years.
