Riyadh - Mubasher: Italy-based Saipem has entered into a new contract worth $750 million with Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) to contribute to the development of the Jafurah unconventional gas field, Saudi Arabia's largest non-associated gas field.

Under the contract, Saipem will construct a hydrocarbon collection system and enable the transport of gas and condensate to the new Jafurah plant, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The Italian company Saipem will also build a system to transport water associated with the separation of the treated gas.

The contract includes the engineering, supply of materials, construction, and commissioning of approximately 835 km of pipelines for the transportation of gas, condensate, and production water.

Saipem's CEO, Francesco Caio, commented: "The award of this new project from Aramco consolidates a long-standing relationship and Saipem's strategic positioning in the Middle East."

It is noteworthy to mention that Aramco has awarded subsurface and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts worth $10 billion to develop the Jafurah unconventional gas field.
