Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Public Business Sector will sign an electric vehicle production contract with one of three companies, which are currently being negotiated with, the Egyptian Minister of Public Business Sector, Hisham Tawfik, announced.

As part of the first phase, the Ministry will build around 3,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across three governorates, Tawfik referred.

The minister added that a new company will be established to manage the operations at these stations in cooperation with a sovereign company.

It is noteworthy to mention that in November 2021, Egypt suspended negotiations with China-based Dongfeng Motor Corporation to produce the E70 electric car.
