Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Aldar Properties has awarded development project contracts valued at over AED 8.5 billion in 2021, reflecting the economic growth in Abu Dhabi following the coronavirus (COVID-19) impact in 2020.

The company has granted 16 contracts to 14 UAE-based contractors spanning infrastructure, residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects in Abu Dhabi, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The contracts include the establishment of residential units, retail spaces, mosques, new and upgraded roads, landscaping, and renovation work to be delivered within the next three years.

The CEO at Aldar Projects, Adel Abdulla Albreiki, commented: "Aldar continues to be a key strategic partner in enhancing Abu Dhabi’s profile as a world-class destination by delivering on owned and managed projects across the capital."

Albreiki added: "Our contribution will be further bolstered throughout 2022 as we press ahead with our plans to develop a broad suite of residential, commercial, educational, and retail offerings."
