Egypt’s international cooperation minister chosen for Generation Unlimited

Cairo – Mubasher: Rania El-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation, has been selected to be part of the Global Leaders' Council of the United Nations Initiative (Generation Unlimited).

Kevin Frey, Executive Director of the Generation Unlimited initiative, announced during the first meeting of the Advisory Council of the Egyptian version of the initiative, as part of COP27 that is being held in Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh during 6-18 November 2022.

Generation Unlimited was launched as Shabab Balad (Youth of a Country) and chaired by both El-Mashat and Elena Banova, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations Office in Egypt.

The initiative gathers decision makers and global economic leaders that will be endorsing efforts to empower youth and mobilise resources for its implementation.

Shabab Balad is the Egyptian version of the Generation Unlimited initiative which was launched in over 54 countries across the globe. Its objective includes supporting and empowering young people in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and participation. It is based on collaboration between the government, the private sector, and international financial institutions.
