Riyadh – Mubasher: Riyadh Chamber of Commerce has been part of setting up more than 40 startups in the financial technology (fintech) sector since 2016 until the present time, said Mansour Al Obaid, who serves as the Chairman of Information and Communication Tech Committee as well as the Digital Health, Emerging Tech, Digital Education, and Cyber Security Committees at Riyadh Chamber.

Emerging technologies have witnessed big changes, Al Obaid noted during the World Fintech Show, which launched today in Saudi Arabia.

The official added that electronic payment has always been a constant problem since 2003 that faced customers paying online for their purchases. 

Saudi Arabia is considered among the first countries that adopted credit card payment technology in the region, Al Obaid said, adding that this step started in the Kingdom in the 90s.
