Cairo – Mubasher: Chairman of the Egyptian Sugar and Integrated Industries Company (ESIIC), Essam El-Bedeiwy, said his company received three international offers to establish an ethanol or absolute alcohol (99.99%) extraction factory from sugarcane with up to EGP 1.50 billion investments.

The statement was made on the sidelines of the seventh edition of the Food Africa Exhibition. Taking place during 5-7 December 2022, Food Africa is the largest trade fair in Africa dedicated to the food and agricultural industries.

The offers were received from Italian, Indian, and French companies to establish the factory, which spans 2-3 feddans with an expected production capacity of 80 million litres per year, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Tuesday.

One of the international companies offered to do the construction work, the second offered to enter into a partnership, and the third offered financing in exchange for obtaining the final product. The three offers are currently under study.

ESIIC, an affiliate of the Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, plans to set up another alcohol production factory in the Nag Hammadi district, El-Bedeiwy revealed.
