Agthia teams up with AD Ports to improve supply chain

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: AD Ports Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Agthia Group to enhance the latter’s supply chain connectivity, according to a press release.

The two entities will collaborate to optimize Agthia's logistics and operational efficiency, besides accelerating the execution of digital-first initiatives.

Agthia will deploy AD Ports’ experience in providing integrated logistics solutions and supply chain data analytics, in addition to the two organisations’ collective expertise in serving the food sector.

The two parties inked the agreement during the inaugural edition of the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIFE), which is held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) until 8 December 2022.

Alan Smith, CEO of Agthia, said: “This important MoU reflects a desire by both parties to share their knowledge and expertise to improve the end-consumer experience and help future-proof growth.”

Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports, noted: “AD Ports group has prioritised the development of innovative technology and advanced logistics services for the food sector as part of our support for the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy.”

Al Shamisi continued: “We are pleased to work with Agthia Group to strengthen their supply chains and deliver new efficiencies by taking advantage of our world-class logistics infrastructure, capabilities, and expertise.”

In the first nine months (9M) of 2022, AD Ports recorded net profits attributable to the shareholders worth AED 917.05 million, a surge from AED 590.04 million in the January-September 2021 period.

Meanwhile, the net profits attributable to the owners of Agthia hiked to AED 158.55 million in 9M-22 from AED 103.29 million in 9M-21.
