CBE offers EGP 46.5bn debt instruments on Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) at an aggregated value of EGP 43.50 billion through two issues on Sunday, 29 January.

The first tranche stood at EGP 20 billion, holding a maturity period of 182 days until 1 August 2023, according to official data.

With a 364-day tenor until 30 January 2024, the second auction was valued at EGP 23.50 billion.

Additionally, the CBE issued treasury bonds (T-bonds) worth EGP 3 billion through one offering, which will mature in three years on 12 January 2026.

Last week, the central bank offered T-bills at a total value of EGP 35 billion through two auctions.
