Mubasher: The Electric Vehicles Innovation Summit (EVIS2023) will launch at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in the UAE on 29 May.

The first-of-kind and largest electric vehicles (EV) event in the MENA region will last for three days until 31 May under the theme "Where EV Innovations Meet" and the organisation of Nirvana Holding, according to a press release.

The summit comprises an exhibition and a two-day conference, where more than 5,000 professionals from leading companies in the EV industry will have the goal of networking and sourcing the latest technologies throughout the event. The audience will include financiers and investors, engineers, research and development (R&D) players, and government officials.

EVIS2023 is featuring speakers from leading entities like TotalEnergies, ABB, Siemens, Masdar City, Volvo, and more.

The CEO of Nirvana Holding, Alaa Al Ali, said: “The global shift towards sustainable modes of transportation has made electric vehicles (EVs) more important than ever before. According to a recent report by BloombergNEF, EV sales are expected to hit 26% of the global car market by 2030, up from 3% in 2020.”

Al Ali added: “Furthermore, the International Energy Agency (IEA) expects the number of electric cars on the road to increase from 11 million in 2020 to 145 million by 2030. With these figures in mind, it is no surprise that the EV industry is growing at an unprecedented pace and we are proud to play a role and be part of this sustainable transition.”

Manufacturers will have the chance to launch their latest EV innovations, while the public will have an opportunity to test-drive the latest EV models by themselves.

EVIS2023 will provide Technology Park which is an innovation area to display the latest technologies in e-mobility. It will showcase the EV innovations of universities as well as technology incubators.
