Chairman of Arab Bank PLC, Subaih Al-Masri, denied that the bank finances The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) after he gave a testimony in a civil case on financing terrorism.

The case accuses the bank of opening accounts for Hamas activists deliberately and paying millions for families of attackers, wounded and detainees during the Palestinian Intifadawhich erupted in 2000.

The bank denied these allegations, but said it provided routine banking services in accordance with laws and regulations of antiterrorism and also did not plan to support Hamas financially.
