The benchmark index of Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) declined on Sunday’s session for the second consecutive day giving up the 2110 points level hurt by mass declines of GCC stock markets.

The benchmark index declined by 0.37% (or by 7.82 points) and closed at 2104.36 points, the lowest level since the end of last August.

At the sectors level, the industry sector decreased by 0.90% and the financial sector shed 0.45% while the services sector rose by 0.25%.

The top three gainers were, the First National Vegetable Oil Industries Co. by 5.88%, Resources Company For Development And Investment Plc by 5.56% and Middle East Insurance by 4.90%.

The top three losers were, Union Tobacco & Cigarette Industries by 7.48%, International Cards Company by 5.13% and Jordan International Trading Center by 4.69%.

Total of 9.8 million shares were traded through 3552 transactions at a turnover of JOD 15.7 million.

The index had closed last week’s session at 2112.15 points declining by 0.38%.
