The benchmark index of Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) closed this week at 2106.1 points, rising 7.9 points, against 2098.2 points in the previous week, increasing by 0.38%.
The average daily trading volume over this week, from Sunday October 26 to Thursday October 30, reached JOD 6.4 million against JOD 5.9 million in the previous week, registering a surge of 7.9%.
Total trading volume reached JOD 31.9 million, compared to JOD 29.6 during the last week. Moreover, a total of 36.6 million shares were traded through 16017 transactions.
Shares of 172 companies were traded, of which 78 rose, 61 declined, and 33 remained unchanged.
All sectors led the trading as the financial index reached JOD 18.8 million or 59.1%, the services index scored JOD 7.7 million or 24.2%, and the industrial index amounted to JOD 5.3 million or 16.7%.
The top three gainers during the week were the Jordan Emirates Insurance Company by 33.33%, Middle East Specialized Cables Company by 21.05%, and Alshamekha for Real Estate and Financial Investments by17.24%.
Meanwhile, the top three decliners were the Jordan Petroleum Refinery by 21.60%, Al Sanabel International for Islamic Investments Company by 9.09%, and Middle East Insurance by 8.23%.
