The World Plastics Council (WPC) said it elected Eng. Mosaed Al-Ohali, executive vice president of SABIC Polymers, as Chairman.
The election was during WPC’s first general meeting held on November 24.
WPC was launched in October 2013 by the plastics industry to accelerate cooperation and alignment at the international level and to deliver improved outcomes for the common benefit for society, consumers and the plastics industry.
Al-Ohali said: “I am really pleased with the establishment of the Council and will work hard with the rest of my WPC colleagues to ensure its effective functioning to promote sustainability and the responsible use of plastics, and represent the industry before global stakeholders."
