Cairo – Mubasher: El Sewedy Electric, an Egypt-based producer of home appliances and cables, announced in a joint statement with Siemens the completion of Ataqa power plant in a record time.

The plant construction was finalised in six months, ahead of the deadline previously scheduled, the company said in a bourse filing.

Ataqa power plant is part of an emergency plan set by the Egyptian government to fulfill the rising demand for electricity through adding 3,632 Megawatt to the national grid.

 The new plant will operate with a capacity of 650 Megawatt. It comprises four Siemens SGT5-2000E turbines that are highly reliable.
