Ooredoo Oman profits grow to OMR 32.3m in 9M

Mubasher: Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo) achieved a 9.5% profit rise to OMR 32.3 million ($83.61 million) in the first nine months of 2015, compared to OMR 29.5 million ($76.36 million) in the same period of 2014, according to a bourse filing.

Revenues added 12.4% to AED 186.8 million in the nine-month period from AED 166.2 million.

The revenues growth is driven by increases in both mobile and fixed data revenue.

“The ongoing investment in modernising and expanding our network is also a factor in customer growth,” Ooredoo CEO, Greg Young said, adding that “We will continue to provide the coverage and speed, with our expanding 4G footprint as well as our recently completed national fibre backbone.”

Ooredoo Oman reported a rise of 16.2% to OMR 11.5 million ($29.8 million) in its profits of the second quarter ended 30 June, compared to OMR 9.9 million ($25.6 million) in the same period of 2014.
