Cairo – Mubasher: Mr. Maged Osman had resigned from the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Orange) after Telecom Egypt’s board members appointed him as the chairman of the board.
Maged Osman was the former minister of communication and information technology from February to July 2011 in the caretaker government. He was also appointed as the head of Baseera Center. Before holding the chairman of TE’s board, he was appointed as a member of the Orange Board of Directors.
Telecom Egypt also appointed Tamer Gadalla as the company’s chief executive officer and a managing director. Tamer Gadalla was the executive vice president and CEO of TE Data.
Earlier, the ordinary general meeting of landline operator Telecom Egypt approved replacing government’s representatives in the board of directors.
The company’s board includes seven members appointed by the prime minister upon a recommendation from the minister of communication as well as three others appointed by the board itself.
