Cairo – Mubasher: Elsewedy Electric Company said Thursday that its subsidiary El Sewedy Logistics Properties (SLP) will establish a logistics centre in the industrial zone of the 10th of Ramadan City, Sharqia Governorate, with total investments of EGP 100 million.
Germany’s DB Schenker will operate the centre, according to a bourse statement.
“As we lay the ground for Egypt's most state of the art logistics and warehousing centre in cooperation with DB Schenker Egypt, the comprehensive service logistics provider will enable us to expand into the logistics development as a natural extension to complement the existing industrial development sector, to fulfil the growing demand for logistics facilities, and to provide professional logistics solutions to the currently underserved and highly needed industry” Mohamed El Kammah, general manager of the industrial development sector in El Sewedy Electric and SLP board member, said, according to a statement by DB Schenker.
Karl-Heinz Emberger, CEO of Schenker Middle East and Africa, said: "DB Schenker supports industry and trade in the global exchange of goods: in land transport, worldwide air and ocean freight, contract logistics, and supply chain management. Our roughly 68,388 employees at some 2,000 locations around the globe were able to generate revenues totalling EUR 15,128 billion in 2016”.
