Riyadh – Mubasher: The main index of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) shed 0.6% or 41.57 points to reach 6,882.51 points in the week ended 11 May compared to 6,924.08 points last week.

The market’s turnover decreased 26.7% to SAR 13.35 billion, while trading volume levelled down 25.6% to 861.5 million shares.

Tadawul’s market cap fell 0.47% or SAR 7.6 billion to SAR 1.62 trillion from SAR 1.63 trillion in the previous week.

The capital goods sector led losers and declined 5.54%, followed by the insurance and materials sectors by 3.6% and 1%, respectively.

On the other hand, the retailing sector topped gainers and rose 3.6%, followed by the telecom and banks by 1.54% and 0.03%, respectively.

Dar Al Arkan was the most active in terms of traded values and volumes in week with 267.7 million shares exchanged for SAR 1.65 billion.

Al Sagr Cooperative Insurance recorded the highest losses and went down 13.76% to SAR 32.47, while Salama Cooperative Insurance advanced 12.73% to SAR 15.94.

As for Nomu-Parallel Market, the main index fell 0.25% or 11.09 points to stand at 4,384.14 points at the week ended 11 May.
