Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Petroleum (QP) on Monday announced its intentions to sell Al-Shaheen crude oil through a joint venture (JV) with French oil company Total starting July 2017, Reuters reported, citing a document it obtained.

The three cargoes from QP’s Al-Shaheen oilfield will be sold in a tender that will end on Tuesday, Reuters added.

The cargoes will be loaded on 17, 18, 23, 24, 28, and 29 July.

QP will sell another cargo on 1 and 2 July.

QP owns a 70% stake in North Oil Company (NOC), while Total owns the remaining 30%.

Al-Shaheen is considered the Qatari firm’s largest oil field with a production capacity of 300,000 barrels per day.

NOC, a subsidiary of QP, will start managing the Al-Shaheen oil field starting from 14 July for a 25-year period.
