Dubai - Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of public works said on Tuesday that the programme to list some of the public companies on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) is progressing accordingly to plan.

Ashraf El-Sharkawy added on the sidelines of a corporate governance conference in Dubai that the specialized committee will soon announce the name of the companies for the next Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).

The minister refused to reveal more details regarding dates and companies noting that the process will take a few years depending on the stock market circumstances.

When asked about the development of the Iron and Steel Company he said that so far 10 international companies have applied noting that the deadline for receiving tender offers is 17 July.
