Cairo – Mubasher: The benchmark EGX30 index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose at Thursday’s close by 1.63% or 209.98 points to the level of 13,094.42 points.

The EGX70, EGX100, and EGX50 indices also increased by 0.49%, 0.94%, and 1.02%, respectively.

The market capitalisation grew by EGP 6 billion to EGP 670.9 billion, the highest level since 27 July 2008.

Trading volume reached 335.03 million shares exchanged at EGP 1.014 billion through 26,400 transactions.

Foreign and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 76.47 million and EGP 35.9 million, respectively, while Egyptian traders were net sellers by EGP 112.4 million.

Orascom Telecom rose 5.41%, Telecom Egypt ascended 4.75%, and Juhayna grew 4.24%.

The Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) rose 3.01% to EGP 79.5.

On the other hand, Oriental Weavers declined 2.93%, Heliopolis Company for Housing fell 2.35%, and Egyptian Resorts slipped 2%.
