Sudan bans Egyptian imports
The cabinet approved a ban on agricultural and animal products imports

Cairo - Mubasher: The Sudanese prime minister has issued a ban on Egyptian imports, according to an official statement.

Bakri Hassan Saleh said in a statement on Tuesday that the cabinet has approved the decisions of the commerce ministry regarding banning agricultural and animal products imports from Egypt.

The Sudanese ministry of commerce temporarily banned importing fruits, vegetables, and fish from Egypt last September.

It is worth noting that recently there has been growing tensions between the two countries in last months, regarding a number of issues, from a border dispute regarding territory in the south of Egypt, to a series of recent trade restrictions.

The president of Sudan Omar Al Bashir said previously said that the Sudanese army has captured Egyptian armoured vehicles from rebels in Darfur.

Al Bashir’s claims were refuted by Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El Sisi who said that Egypt does not interfere in other countries’ affairs.
